Good News About Our Staff!
God is at work in good ways at CATC! On Sunday, March 12, our platform was packed with our Youth leading us in worship, and we welcomed our Interim Senior Pastor, Dr. David Sebastian, for the second week. Among our staff team, God is calling new leaders to join our go.love. mission. We're excited to share some good news updates with you!
ADULT MINISTRIES & CONGREGATIONAL CARE
In December 2016, Pastor Mandy Baldwin shared with us that she would be moving into a new role as a full-time counselor in a private practice. We are so grateful for her 17-year investment at CATC! For several months we have been in conversation about what would be next.
We are so grateful to announce that Bruce Hazel, Pastor of Community Life, will now be leading our congregational care ministries. Pastor Bruce joined our staff team in early 2016 and has been a tremendous blessing to our church family. In addition to leading congregational care, Pastor Bruce will continue to stay connected with discipleship through classes and electives for adults.
Joining Pastor Bruce will be KYLEE LARSON, who will serve as Director of Spiritual Formation. This role will first and foremost focus on millennial ministry as we seek to reach young professionals in the Indy area. Additionally, Kylee will lead discipleship, assimilation, and women’s ministries. We look forward to welcoming Kylee and her husband Phil to CATC beginning May 1!
Meet Kylee: Kylee Larson is passionate about appreciating and cultivating beauty and truth in all their forms: spoken, written, painted, and lived. When she was 19 years old, God called her to tell the story He was writing in her life, and this calling has been the guidepost for each step since. Kylee has served in the church, both vocationally and in lay leadership, in many different areas including: preaching teams, youth ministry, creative worship arts, and most recently as the Spiritual Formation Director at South Meridian Church of God in Anderson, IN. Kylee lives in Anderson with her husband of 9 years, Phil, and their dog Hashbrown (who is an awesome dog and sort of does look like a hash brown). She received her Master of Theological Studies degree from Anderson University School of Theology in 2010, and is currently honored to be participating in the Church of God ordination process.
Great things are happening in Youth Ministry! (Be sure to join them for the annual Dessert Theater this weekend!) We are grateful for the continued leadership of Abbie Craig, Youth Ministry Director. Last Fall, Abbie graciously stepped into the lead position in Youth Ministry. Since that time, we began the search for an additional Youth Ministry staff member to work alongside and be a direct report to Abbie.
Joining Abbie will be ZACH CHAPMAN, who will serve as Junior High Youth Ministry Director. Zach comes to us with a passion to reach Junior High students. Zach will fill a unique new role as Youth Ministry works towards launching some exciting changes beginning this Fall. We look forward to welcoming Zach and his fiancée Hannah beginning April 4!
Meet Zach: Zach Chapman was born and raised on the south side of Indianapolis and is on track to graduate from the University of Indianapolis in December 2017 with a degree in Youth Ministry. He is engaged to his best friend, Hannah, and they are excited to get married in June of this year! In his free time, Zach loves to read, bake interesting dishes, and try local restaurants on road trips. He loves Mexican food and good (and bad) coffee.
