Special News from Pastor Erin

Dear Church at the Crossing Family,

We love you! We are so grateful for the way that this awesome church family has shaped our lives and loved us so generously. Because of our deep love for all of you, it is especially difficult to share the news with you that our family will soon be moving to Michigan. Since late last year, we have felt God stirring in our hearts that He is calling us to a new adventure. While we were praying about this, we were contacted by a wonderful congregation in Alma, Michigan. This past Sunday, I was invited to candidate as Senior Pastor of the Alma First Church of God. After a wonderful weekend with them and a strong affirmative congregational vote, we have accepted the call and plan to relocate this summer. Our last Sunday at CATC will be May 20th.

We have a clear sense that God is calling us to step-out-of-the-boat and follow him in this new ministry assignment. It’s a huge step of faith for us and one that brings so many deep emotions. We are grateful beyond what words can express for the 13 years we’ve had at Church at the Crossing. God has done some extraordinary things in my life and my heart because of all of you. We have shared a lot of life together! Thank you for inviting me into your lives as one of your pastors. Thank you for being people who go.love. in such inspiring ways. Thank you for the way that you have loved me and my family – especially as we’ve welcomed each of our four kids over these past six years.

My life and ministry will be forever shaped because of CATC. As we prepare for the new adventure the Lord has for our family, we will do so thanking God for all of you. We believe that God will continue to work in awesome ways through CATC and we are eager to see what God has in store as you continue to go.love. our world for the sake of Jesus. Know that we will always hold you in our hearts and pray for you along the way.

Gratefully,
Erin, Dan, Will, Noah, Jake, & Anna Kate

From Pastor James:

Dear Church Family,

Congratulations are in order for the Taylor family. As Erin mentioned, she has been sensing since late last year that God was calling them to a new adventure. When I came on staff at the beginning of this year, I learned early on that Erin was being pursued on multiple fronts by some amazing churches and organizations.

I am reminded that this is God’s church and He moves in people’s hearts and directs them to their new assignments. I, too, experienced the heavy emotions that are attached to following God’s call to a new place while having to say goodbye to many wonderful friends. Crossroads honored me throughout my search process. I am glad to say that our Elders and Staff honored Erin by giving her the same support throughout her search as well.

Let’s cheer her on and encourage her family deeply as they transition to Michigan. Erin served faithfully at CATC for 13 years and we were blessed to have her. With tears and joy we say, “We are proud of you, Erin!” Michigan will be a better place because of the Taylor family.

Please join us for a reception in the sanctuary lobby after both services on Sunday, May 20 to say goodbye and congratulations to Erin, Dan, and their children.
