Project 5+2

PageHeader_5&2_2014

Perhaps you heard a story in church as a child about the boy who had five loaves of bread and two fish, then Jesus used this food to feed a multitude of five thousand people (John 6:1-14). This familiar Bible story is a reminder that our Heavenly Father can multiply what little we may have to offer and benefit more people than we could ever imagine.

This story is also what inspired the name for Project 5+2 (5 loaves, 2 fish, get it?). Through Project 5+2, we have the opportunity to fill a backpack with school supplies, hygiene products, and fun goodies for students, teachers and staff members at Village Project Africa in Makutano, Kenya. Additionally, those who pack a Project 5+2 bag receive a picture of the student, teacher or staff member for whom they are packing a bag. This is a great opportunity to pray for that child or adult all year long!

What began in 2011 has become an exciting annual project and an incredible way to engage with the community at Village Project Africa.

Project 5+2 for 2017 kicks off on Sunday, November 5!
