WHAT I DO:
I love being a pastor here at Church At The Crossing. My specific roles have me working with our Elders and Staff on Vision, Direction, and Mission – which I love to do! I am on point in coordinating our Teaching Pastors (Erin Taylor, Jim Cook, Mandy Baldwin, and myself) for weekend teaching in our worship services. In addition, I have the privilege to be invited into so many of the sacred moments of people’s lives (baptism, anointing, communion, and more)! Yeah, I’ll say it again, “I love being a pastor here at Church At The Crossing!”

As Director of the Early Childhood Center, I work with a marvelous team of classroom leaders and office staff who love and enjoy working with young families. You know, hanging with preschoolers guarantees you fresh discoveries every day. I love that. I truly believe that God wants the Church and Home to work in tandem, and so I work to help the ECC come alongside our families as they are just starting out and help them to keep God’s big picture in mind. Parents have an important task of raising kids and I want to remind them they don’t do it alone. I know that honors God.

It is a true blessing to be the administrative assistant to Pastor Jim Cook in Caring Ministries. God has gifted me with compassion and a deep love and empathy for those who are struggling with the issues we all face as humans in this broken world. These gifts are complimented with administration skills that support Pastor Cook in the ministry of care and encouragement. The best part of my position on staff is that I get to learn, and personally benefit, from the wisdom and laughter of God as expressed through Pastor Jim Cook.
HOME, FAMILY, PETS?
Married to, Dave, my best friend from high school. We have two adult children; a beautiful blessing to have both a son and a daughter, and also a wonderful son-in-law and five very precious grandchildren. My family would tell you my “baby” is Brutus (my very old cat . . . beyond 9 lives now).
MY HOBBIES:
RV camping and kayaking and I love a good book. Currently I am attracted to books on Muslims and Islam and missionary families, and growing in faith; but for a break of such heavy reading, I do enjoy a good thriller/mystery or drama . . . preferably with a Christian basis.
INTERESTING THING TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
My daughter, her husband and their 5 children are currently serving in the mission field in Northern Sudan. While there are many struggles that go along with having grandchildren so many miles away, God is teaching me what it means to let go, trust Him, and receive His peace.

Rachel Riley
communications director
WHAT I DO:
CATC has an important story to tell. My job is to help us stay creative, clear, focused (and let's be honest, good-looking), with how we tell that story. Basically, if you see it, read it, or click it...I take care of it! I love getting to fuse my passion for graphic design and communications with ministry, which is something God has been revealing to me as a calling for my life.
HOME, FAMILY, PETS?
My cat, Charlie, is the coolest cat you'll ever meet. He plays fetch....I'm not kidding. My parents, sister and brother live in my home state of Ohio.

MY HOBBIES:
Cooking, baking, photography, music-listening, concert-attending.
INTERESTING THING TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
I may or may not have an unhealthy obsession with the band The Avett Brothers...

Hali Mendenhall
administrative assistant to worship arts & youth minstries
WHAT I DO:
I streamline the communications for both Worship Arts and Youth Ministries. I also help to keep the ministries as organized as I can. Whatever they need, I’m there for them. I love how there are so many volunteers in each ministry that I get the honor to work with. We are all one big team to help share the news of our great God. I love my job and am blessed to be here!
HOME, FAMILY, PETS?
I was raised in the Indy/Fishers area but my heart is in the mountains of Colorado, where I was born. I love my son, parents and two yorkies more than words can express and don’t take one day for granted. Every day is a blessing we get to share together, even if the land is flat without a scenic view.
MY HOBBIES:
Dance, dance, dance. It’s been my passion and own personal ministry forever. There is just something about expressing my love for God and what I feel in music through movement. HOME, FAMILY, PETS?
Originally from the Portland, OR area - where Mom, Dad, and brother live now.
MY HOBBIES:
Laughing, pop culture, cooking, blogging, art, music, reading.
INTERESTING THING TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
As a kid, I was slightly obsessed with “The Little Mermaid.” My parents claim I saw it 3,147 times. Everything I wore/owned/played with was Ariel-themed. I even brought the magic on the road, insisting my parents play the soundtrack on the cassette deck in our van. To this day, my Mom and Dad still cringe when they hear the song, “Under the Sea.” As an adult, I may or may not have replaced this obsession with one for NBC comedies.
