For many, the Christmas season is a time of great joy and celebration. For others, it is a time of deep sadness and loneliness. This outreach is an effort to serve our neighbors and show people that they are loved and thought of over the holidays. Over the last 5 years, over 500 boxes of homemade Christmas cookies have been delivered to local shelters, hospitals, Nora Schools, and Wheeler Mission! This year, we have a goal to provide a box of homemade cookies to every family visiting the One More Neighborhood Market the following day, and with our homeless ministry partners.
Each tin will have approximately 12-15 cookies, a handwritten Christmas card, and an invitation to attend Christmas Eve services.
You can be a part of the outreach by:
- Baking/donating cookies prior to the event
- Decorating and/or packing cookies on December 20 in Cox Wing Room 133 (5:30 - 8 PM)
- Distributing cookies at the Neighborhood Market on December 21
Please contact Vanessa Lucas at vmbeadling@gmail.com with any questions or interest in baking/donating cookies!
